Genius Easypen i405 - is anyone else using this?

When I saw the article I was really reminded of the issue in the title.

I have to honestly admit that I’m not in the picture in the field of whiteboards, I could say I haven’t followed the trends of recent years. The last time I held a Genius board in my hand it was good for pretty much two things. It was possible to make children's drawings and digitize signatures with it. That's about it. True, there were professional solutions from Vacom, for example, but their price in exchange for good quality ranged in the unaffordable range, at least for ordinary mortals.

This is exactly why the question in the title came to mind, as we are experiencing the mass proliferation of touch screens today, or at least we are on the eve of this event. Who then needs a whiteboard with which e.g. digitize signature?

Then I read the article and realized that Genius boards have evolved a bit in recent years. For example, the Easypen i405 detects pressure in 1024 gears, can distinguish 2450 lines per inch, and reports 100 hundred times per pen movement. Think about what graphics can be created with 1024-degree pressure sensing, and also about how one inch can handle lines 2,54 centimeters, or 0,1 millimeters thick.

Anyone who has ever dealt with graphics knows that all of these skills may not be right for a carbon drawing, but they are definitely for a pen drawing. So this device really has a raison d’être, as touch screens are nowhere to be found in terms of touch perception, so cheap whiteboards are now not only suitable for work or play, but also for making art.
