Every story has a beginning, this one too, and I like to tell stories. So I will tell this article from the beginning, from the beginning of the story, so that you can understand how I got to the Gardsure saw.
Sometime 3 years ago I bought a small 4 inch chainsaw. Nothing shows the interest in the saw better than the fact that my video about it is the most viewed on my channel, with over 100 views.
The saw lived up to my expectations, although it is true that the cheapness did strike out here and there. There was no automatic chain lubrication, the chain was quite stretchy, and adjusting the chain tension was not easy either, because the adjustment screw was constantly full of chips and sawdust. Still, I loved it. I had a problem with it, it turned out afterwards that a slightly larger chainring would have been better.
For this reason, in the autumn before last year, I bought a bigger machine with a 4-inch chainring instead of a 6-inch one. Well, it turned out well, I dared to stand on tree trunks and branches that were 10-12 centimeters or even thicker. Of course, the lubrication of the chain plate and chain was not automatic here either, for this I used a chain spray I bought for my motorcycle a long time ago. Apart from eating the paint on the chain plate, this didn't cause any other problems, it was comfortable to work with.
In fact, it was so convenient that I bought a second one of this saw around Christmas, because even with two batteries it was barely HUF 8000, so I thought it would be good as a spare.
The point is that I haven't really used the 4-inch front saw for a while, but I used the 6-inch one in the fall, or rather at the beginning of winter, and started gardening with it this year as well. There was plenty to cut.
Yes, but I was confronted by the GARDSURE saw, which I couldn't leave in the store.
I had to try it out, because it looked quite exciting, and based on the specifications, it wasn't a bad piece either, although the price was much higher. Until I had fruit trees, I didn't know that the garden and the trees provide work every year. I thought it would be enough to tidy them up once, then I pruned them every year, but it turned out not to be.
So I knew that if it worked out, I would be able to give him work later, because every year there are bigger branches that I have to cut down so that the fresh shoots that grow in the direction I like can get stronger. I know it's obvious (I didn't have it) that the tree can also be destroyed, a disease comes, it rots, etc. So, with a certain amount of fruit trees, a normal saw will sell quite well.
So the GARDSURE saw has arrived, so I can report that I already own 3 6 inch saws. I think I have solved the motorized mini saw problem for the rest of my life!
What can the GARDSURE machine do?
Well, as I mentioned, this is a 6 inch saw, which in this case represents the length of the chainring. 6 inches is 15 centimetres, and this is roughly the thickness of the branches that should be used. Of course, with a little skill, 20 cm won't be an obstacle either, but more on that later.
The machine uses a brushless motor, which is very beneficial from the point of view of maintenance, because there are no carbon brushes, commutators, etc., which cannot wear out or burn. Unlike cheaper machines, the engine is not located on the side, but on the back. The drive will thus be some kind of angle drive (I didn't take it apart), like in the case of a flex (angle grinder).
According to the factory data, the speed of the chain can be 25 feet per second, which in metric units means 762 centimeters or seven and a half meters per second. Impressive to say the least.
There are two very important things in terms of use. One is that the machine has an oil tank, which means that this saw will automatically lubricate the chain, just like larger chainsaws. The second important point is that we don't need to use a tool to adjust the chain tension, which speeds up the process a lot.
The battery remains at the end, which in this saw is a 20-volt, 2 Ah capacity lithium-ion battery. We get two of these in the package, according to the manufacturer's data sheet, they allow 2 hours of continuous work with one charge.
There are not many accessories, in addition to the battery, we get a spare chain and a carrying bag in which to carry the machine. This is not a hard bag.
Experiences can come!
Let's start with the fact that the GARDSURE saw is a very well-assembled machine, the quality and assembly of the plastics is a whole different world compared to cheap machines costing around HUF 10. Those are clearly consumables that, if they break down, are not worth repairing, this is much more of a machine that can be used for professional, even "industrial" purposes.
It has a very good weight distribution, because the motor is not on the side, so even though it is much larger than cheap machines, it still does not drag our hands. The power trigger is in the right place, it's a good size, you need to press it with a fairly firm pressure. As an added bonus, there is also a safety lock, which also needs to be pressed to turn it on, so the chance of accidental start-up is small.
I note here that the latch does not hold the power button down after booting, very correctly.
When it comes to switching it on, it is important to mention that although the chain speed is quite high, the start of the machine is not sudden, not very powerful. The speed and torque build up gradually in 1-2 seconds, so it doesn't hurt our hands either. It gives a certain sense of security.
The chain tensioner solution is good. Pull and tighten the structure with the upper black rotatable part, and adjust the tension with the lower green rotatable part. We will be able to change the chain and the chain plate by completely unrolling the upper black part.
The oil tank is not very big, but the saw is also small, one fill was enough for me for a day's work. It is important that I have not experienced any leakage so far, so it is not a problem if there is oil left in the tank, it will not leak out during transport. I hope not later either, now in any case the stuff is frank from this point of view as well.
I really like the large hand guard on the machine and the top tilting part that prevents chips from flying away, it also moves well, and it's a good length. Of course, this also prevents our hands from touching the chain from above, so stability and good materials are important. It's here.
In terms of design, there is one thing that I don't like, that there is no toothed part on the machine next to the chainring. This is good because, on the one hand, the wood does not slide smoothly on the plastic while working, and on the other hand, with thicker materials, we hook it into the wood and thus exert pressure. It is also easier to cut this way, and the saw does not slip so easily.
Regarding the battery, I should note that it is not Makita compatible, but I would be surprised if I could not find a type that would be compatible, and GARDSURE also makes quite a few products, it would be strange if there was no battery for it later. Let's just say, if there's nothing else, the cells will be completely replaceable anyway, so I'm not worried about the battery at all.
How is working with the machine?
If I want to tell you in one word, then I would say that it is easy. The engine is strong, and I haven't had the chain get stuck in a tree in the last few days. Due to the automatic lubrication, neither the chain nor the chainring get too hot, so after three days of intensive use I didn't have to tighten the chain. With my cheaper saw, this is approx. it would be the impossible category, even though I spray it with the chain spray, the chain has to be constantly readjusted.
As I wrote above, I really like that the machine doesn't start suddenly, but it doesn't stop like that either.
I cut a lot of wood during the test. The "victims" were mainly pear and apple trees due to garden work, but I also cut up the 20-centimeter-thick logs left over from last year, the brutally hard 10-centimeter acacia columns left over from the old garden, and a lot of other things.
Of course, I also cut up the cut branches (at least the ones with a thickness suitable for firewood or potting), and that was not enough either.
Battery life sacc/approx. it matches the factory data, but it's difficult to measure, because the machine doesn't run continuously while I'm working, I'm packing the branches, climbing the ladder, etc. At the same time, I can say that I was able to work for a whole day on one charge. Of course, everyone works differently, with different intensity, so this is just my experience, maybe the two batteries will be enough for you for two days, also the fact that you have to charge them after 2-3 hours.
Overall, the GARDSURE machine really does its job. Even gardeners can buy this machine, people who use it for their work on a daily basis. I have a feeling this will hold up.
Finally, the price. Unfortunately, you have to pay for quality even if the product is Chinese. It is not by chance that the cheap version costs HUF ten thousand, and it is not by chance that this one costs HUF 28. This price difference is realistic in all respects, since the GARDSURE machine is a much more serious, much stronger, much better built machine.

If you would use it for more serious work or perhaps to earn money, then take this. In all other cases, you can stay with the cheap saws, which in return mean more care and more effort.
