Audacity is a free and open source digital audio editing program.

The free program can be used to record and edit mp3, wav, wma, ogg, lame and other audio files. Files can be mixed, trimmed, and filtered to further improve the end result. For example, it can be used to optimize old, noisy recordings, equalize tracks, and normalize volume. Audacity supports 24-bit and 32-bit audio.
