Updated mini-linux!
DSL can be booted from almost any media, called a LiveCD Linux distribution. Despite its small size (50 MB), it also contains the most important programs, while the functionality of the user interface is the best indicator.
Damn Small Linux can be written to a 24-minute mini-CD, copied to USB media, booted from a computer, or even run within Windows. It is primarily recommended for those who are just starting to get acquainted with Linux, or simply want to always carry their built-in, homey operating system with them, but it is not the best choice for everyday use. DSL is a Knoppix-based system, so it can run reliably and at acceptable speeds on older hardware. The theoretical minimum machine requirements are set at a 486DX processor and 16 MB of memory, but to actually use it, it actually requires a more powerful processor and 128 MB of system memory.
