New, contradictory data has come to light about the NVIDIA G71 graphics core.
From DailyTech’s semi-official information, we can learn new things about the capabilities of the GeForce 7900 series. According to the specifications of the GeForce 7900 GTX:
- 655 MHz core frequency
- 52 GB / second memory bandwidth at 256 bits (1,7 GHz)
- 24 rendering conveyors (not final)
- 15 billion pixels / second fill rate (GeForce 7800 GTX: 9,6 billion)
- 24 pixels per clock cycle (GeForce 7800 GTX: 24)
GeForce 7900 GT specifications:
- 450 MHz core frequency
- 40 GB / s memory bandwidth at 256 bits (1,4 ns, frequency unknown, approx. 1,3 GHz expected)
- 24 rendering conveyor
- 11 billion pixels / second fill rate
- 24 pixels per clock cycle
NVIDIA GeForce GT 7900
At the moment, only images of the GeForce 7900 GT's printed circuit board are available, not the cooling on it - DailyTech says it will also be single-socket. According to further news, the first versions of the GeForce 7900 GTX will all be two-socket, followed by a month of single-socket releases with which we can build up to a four-card SLI system.
