Freemake Videoconverter - A program of possibilities
In my blog and on many pages, I try to tell everyone that it’s worth giving a chance to this great program.
The Freemake young team, they were seen to work barely a year ago, and diligent keyboard knocking is now bringing the expected results. People are enticed by two free programs, one is Videodownloader and the other is Videoconverter. My little writing takes the latter under scrutiny, precisely because it is special in many ways.
What is the situation of video conversion in Hungary?
The title is interesting, many people think they don’t even think about how important it is to convert as standard and simply as possible. Even today, I see countless movies encoded in DivX 3 Low, as well as encodings whose detailed parameters I can already see that many will be unable to play on their TV-connected multimedia center, their other players. Why is that? The answer is simple: there are countless codecs and countless quality settings associated with them. In most encoders, all parameters can be set freely, so the user has the reins in hand, which often navigates our movie the wrong way. Cabac, Chroma, ReFrame… few people know what they mean, right?
What do we expect from a converter?
Good quality and simplicity. But we still have to wait for something: compatibility. This is what makes a movie, music, animation community. It is not enough that only those who have a computer and full codec packs can play the movie.
What Freemake promises…
Select the movie to convert, enter bitrate, size and convert. That’s all in a nutshell (and not just that). The other parameters cannot be reached, the program handles itself and tries to create a compatible movie, which it succeeds. Of course, it can even cut and paste, it easily provides a solution for various output devices (YouTube, Apple, Andoid, etc.), it also has GPU acceleration (CUDA, DXVA). He doesn't know Hungarian yet, although the translation is already 100% complete, maybe in one of the next versions.
In short, if you’re not a professional, give it a try, make your movies available to everyone, don’t cast spells, let’s leave it to Potter.
