An important agreement has been reached between the government and Huawei

 A strategic cooperation agreement was signed between the Hungarian government and Huawei Technologies, one of the leading global suppliers of information and telecommunications technologies, in Beijing on Thursday. The agreement was solemnly signed by Péter Szijjártó, Government Commissioner for the Coordination of Hungarian-Chinese Bilateral Relations, and Philip Jiang, Vice President of Huawei Technologies.

Péter Szijjártó told MTI by telephone that, under the agreement, Huawei will seek to expand its Hungarian manufacturing operations in the coming years and to involve more and more domestic suppliers in its supply processes. In order to increase Hungary's competitiveness, Huawei also set the goal of bringing as many first-round suppliers as possible to Hungary, and the government has expressed its intention to support the company's economic goals in the European Union.

As part of the strategic cooperation, Huawei supports the Hungarian government in its work to enhance network security and is ready to take an active part in strengthening the country's cyberspace, telecommunications and communications security. [MTI]
