Telenor is extending the deadline to apply for its soon-to-debut smartphone platform, Firefox Mobile. The developers can apply for the competition with a total prize pool of HUF 1 until September 250.

The market-leading Android, iOS, Windows Phone and BlackBerry systems meet the versatile needs of users with millions of applications. The Firefox Mobile application store, the platform that will soon debut in Hungary, has a narrower range of applications as a new player, but at the same time the platform's easy-to-learn development environment offers huge opportunities for developers.
From the user's point of view, the most important advantage of the Firefox Mobile operating system is that - the HTML5-based system - it provides a high level of user experience in addition to its low system requirements and hardware requirements. With its proliferation on a much wider scale, the benefits of smartphones may become available to lower-end mobile selectors as well. By supporting the development of the Hungarian development community and new applications, Telenor also wants to help create high-quality, local content.
In the Telenor Firefox Mobile application development competition, amateur and professional developers can enter in 5 topics: Community, Game, Media, Travel / Transportation and Other categories. The prize for the creators of the category-winning works is HUF 250, and the applications judged to be the best by the professional jury will also be included in the selection of Firefox Marketplace - Telenor.
The new registration deadline is September 2013, 8 at 24:00, applications can be submitted by e-mail. Telenor a [email protected] awaits the names and contact details of the applicants (mobile number, e-mail address), a short description of the application launched on the application (max. 500 characters) and a link to the Firefox Marketplace. The competition can only be entered with an application approved in the Firefox Marketplace, among which versions of existing applications adapted for the Firefox platform will also be accepted by Telenor in the competition. It’s worth noting that Mozilla, the operator of the virtual marketplace, agrees to approve and publish submitted applications with a turnaround time of 18 business days.
