AGEIA was acquired by NVIDIA

PhsyX technology strengthens GeForce brand.

Yesterday, NVIDIA came as a big surprise, as they announced the acquisition of AGEIA, which is developing PhysX technology, based on their announcement. The financial implications of the merger have not yet been reported to the press, but the company will also reveal the details of the acquisition in a conference call on 13 February.

After the acquisition of Havok by Intel, it is perhaps not so surprising that AGEIA "lost", in fact it was only a matter of time before a company that suffered by itself was absorbed by a giant company. It is not yet known how NVIDIA tries to take advantage of the opportunities provided by PhysX technology, but it is certain that the age of PhysX physics accelerator cards has come to an end.
