Low cost motherboard with 1333 FSB support

MSI has endowed Intel's 945GC integrated graphics chipset with support for the new Core 2 Duo processors.

Surprisingly, the manufacturer is not promoting any of its G33 products for the new processors, but rather has converted its chip carrying an older chipset to accommodate the 1333 MHz FSB proc. The 945GCM5 V2 uses the previous generation 945GC chip, which was created annually by Intel specifically for the low-cost segment of the base 945G. According to the original configuration, the chip can support a maximum of 800 MHz FSB, however, according to these, operation at a much higher value of 1333 can be easily achieved without major modifications.

The card itself should come as no surprise, the microATX size has two memory slots, two PCIe - PCIe × 16 and × 1 - and two PCI slots. As for the mass storage, we can worry about a total of 6 pieces on the sheet, of which 2 can be PATA and 4 SATA devices. The sound is usually provided by an HD Audio chip, while you can connect to your network with the Gigabit controller.
