LaCie offers an extreme tolerance flash drive
After rival Corsair released the Flash Survivor, LaCie couldn’t lag behind either, releasing the XtremKey, which can withstand 5-meter falls and +200 resp. -50 ° C.
The new drive is housed in a 2mm metal alloy case (aluminum, magnesium, copper and zinc) that allows it to be waterproof up to 100 meters and, of course, proudly withstands all the usual external influences. It communicates via a USB 2.0 interface, so its maximum read and write speeds are 40 MB / s and 30 MB / s.
The LaCie XtremKey will be available from 8GB to 64GB starting in August, starting at $ 50.
