The first independent Mantle measurements are coming - updated!

Now the monkey is jumping into the water, because if AMD has cosmeticized the previous numbers a bit, it will make sense of more modest results. The first independent Mantle measurements are coming - updated! 1

Recently, another serious bug was discovered on the Catalyst 14.1 beta drive, which forced programmers to postpone it again.

This short slip resulted in the Catalyst, which brings Mantle support, only now being completed. Users still have to wait, as the press has been given an exclusive 24-hour period to make their first measurements. German ComputerBase took advantage of the opportunity despite the weekend, although due to time constraints, they could only measure in Battlefield 4 single-player mode - fans of the series may not be happy about that. In multi-person mode, the difference would certainly have been greater, and such tests will come later.

Their test machine running Windows 7 (Windows 8.1 produced similar results) was powered by a 4,5 GHz Intel Core i7-4770K, which in principle excludes the possibility of a CPU limit. Battlefield 4, of course, ran in the highest possible graphics mode (with anti-aliasing, anisotropic filtering), and the resolution was 1920 × 1080 pixels. The Radeon R9 290X graphics card operated in so-called über mode and produced an average of 11 fps with the DirectX 55,4 API. After the Mantle glowed, the speed jumped to 65,7 frames per second, so the difference isn’t negligible at all - it’s exactly 19 percent.

The image is clearly clear. A high-performance video card like the Radeon R9 290X will undoubtedly come up with huge demands on the CPU. Even an overdriven Core i7-4770K doesn't seem to be able to satisfy this, as we've seen before that in a GPU-limited test environment, the Mantle API can't show substantial acceleration either.

Updated!

Legit Reviews has put together an Intel Core i5-3570K processor and a Radeon R7 260X graphics card. The difference can be called staggering with some exaggeration!

Guru3D also measured a pleasant speed increase, especially with a discrete graphics controller.

The Golem revealed earthquake-like changes in multiplayer mode, the Core i7-3770K apparently not at the height of the situation. Based on these, the Mantle can be a serious weapon in the hands of Internet fighters.

Multiplayer again, this time courtesy of Hardwareluxx. The Intel Core i3,9-7X, which is pulled to 3960 GHz, also looks a little extra.

The Polish PClab, the test, came up with a more detailed analysis than ever before ide can be opened by clicking. It set the bar similarly high AnandTech portal as well - this is also worth a look.

According to hardCOREware, a 10 percent plus is expected for the A10-7850K APU.
