Energy-saving monitors from Lenovo

Lenovo's five new energy-saving ThinkVision monitors with outstanding image quality will be available in Hungary from December.

The new product line includes the flagship L2251x Wide, the company’s most environmentally conscious monitor, and the ThinkVision L1711p, L1951p Wide, L2250p Wide and L2251p Wide, which will also be known for their eco-friendly features.

In developing the new monitors, Lenovo followed the principles of “low power consumption, recycling and recycling”. As a result, all five monitors are EPEAT “Gold” and TCO rated. In addition, they are more than 50% more energy efficient than previous models, surpassing the criteria of the Energy Star 5.0 standard. [1]

“Lenovo, the first IT company to receive TCO’s‘ Edge ’certification through its L2251x Wide Monitor, can claim to be a leader in the industry in many areas, including reduced electromagnetic emissions,” said Sören Enholm, President of TCO Development. "Lenovo has taken the necessary plus one step to earn TCO Display 5.0 certification with all five new models."

Visual performance

The new monitors feature vivid colors, up to 1680 × 1050 resolution, 1000: 1 contrast ratio and 5 millisecond response time. Thanks to the DisplayPort, the monitor can also be easily connected to a laptop or PC. [2] The ThinkVision L2251x widescreen model comes with a built-in webcam and four Hi-Speed USB ports.

Low energy consumption

The ThinkVision L2251x, the first monitor to be TCO ‘Edge’ certified, meets the most stringent ergonomic, safety and environmental requirements. This model consumes just 21 watts, which is significantly less than the category’s average power consumption of 49 watts. [3] All five monitors received a low-voltage white LED-backlit display and housed sensors that help keep power consumption low by monitoring ambient light and motion. If monitor manufacturers fully switch to LED technology by 2013, nearly 30 tonnes of CO4 emissions could be saved [10]. The motion sensor turns off the device while away from the computer, contributing an additional 5 percent energy savings annually. [XNUMX] To ensure a healthy environment, new monitors will be equipped with mercury-free panels and low-halogen components.

Lenovo has reduced the amount of packaging required for ThinkVision monitors by 44 percent on select models. [6]

Reuse

The frame of the L2251x monitor is made of 65 percent recycled plastic, while 90 percent of its packaging is recycled. The screen also comes with a protective case that can be used for other purposes.

Recycling

Lenovo offers many opportunities to recycle your computers worldwide.
