The ATI Radeon HD 4890 has started

Another gem has been added to the HD 4800 series.

Today, not only the GTX 275 but also AMD’s latest graphics card, which bears the HD 4890 designation, was introduced. The RV55 graphics core with 790-nanometer manufacturing technology on which the product is based is a relative of the RV4870 (XT) discoverable on the HD 770: in light of this, it is not surprising that the RV790 has 800 stream processors, but increased to 959 million as a result of optimization. Thanks to the improvements, the GPU is capable of operating at 100 MHz higher, as has the effective clock speed of 1 GB of GDDR5 memory, from 3,6 to 3,9 GHz.

Dual-slot cooling has also been inherited from its predecessor, the HD 4890, and its energy hunger is met by two 2.0-pin power connectors in addition to the PCI Express 16 x6 interface. Boasting a computing power of 1,36 TFlops, the novelty, which consumes up to 190 W, faces GTX 275such as DirectX 10.1, Shader Model 4.1, OpenGL 3.0, ATI Avivo, ATI PowerPlay, ATI CrossFireX, and Unified Video Decoder 2.0. The recommended retail price for the HD 4890 was set at $ 249 by AMD.
