The $ 100 laptop is getting more expensive!

Contrary to the original plans, the One Laptop per Child (OLPC) notebook is becoming more and more expensive to buy.

As is well known, the computer, developed for educational purposes in developing countries, was first ringed as a $ 100 notebook in its initial stages. Unfortunately, they failed to keep up, and there were sad news that OLPC would be marketed at a slightly higher price than expected.

Accordingly, we’ve heard of $ 130 and $ 175, respectively, but according to the latest news, the foundation responsible for the project has set the purchase price at $ 188. In addition, this amount may vary from country to country, so Uruguay, for example, can get such a computer for $ 205 a piece.

The notebook, named XO, will also be commercially available. The suggested retail price is not yet known, but we can be sure that an amount higher than the numbers mentioned above will appear on the price tag.
