NVIDIA tech demo (with video) unenjoyable with a GPU
The technical demonstration, called Dawn, was meant to demonstrate the capabilities of the FX series, while New Dawn is already brilliant on GeForce 600 cards. Due to system requirements, we also protest on behalf of video cards, but we can easily watch the video in the news.
Unsurprisingly, the 10 years have not passed without a trace. Even NVIDIA acknowledges that the old Dawn demonstration didn’t go exactly as they dreamed because of the limitations of current hardware at the time. For the protagonist, the daytime environment was not a lucky choice, and the forest was completely lifeless.
The new version, on the other hand, presents the "luxury" of the early morning rainforest. The camera starts from a distance, so we can admire the astonishing elaboration of the environment. Then comes the main character, who is now 10 years older - he is, in principle, a fairy, so whoever thought he was a night butterfly was (despite appearances) very wrong. We are happy to state that, on the one hand, Dawn did not grow older by defying the laws of physics, and that her jungle clothing style continues to strengthen the minimalist direction.
While in the first technical presentation, Dawn could "boast" with barely 1700 hairs, in the second edition, she managed to increase this to 40, moreover, we are not dealing with a static solution here. However, the most striking number was found when working out the environment: instead of 7 thousand triangles, 4 million were deployed. Shadows, post-processing and anti-aliasing make the work of the new hardware more difficult, and the default resolution has also increased significantly. Of course, the procedures used could be detailed in long lines, but we consider one thing even more important than that.

NVIDIA saw the "target hardware" in the GeForce GTX 670 SLI. Yes, even with the GeForce GTX 680, we will only have a bumpy experience. For the best quality, our configuration must be supported with two graphics processors. This seems quite a stretch, but the statement of the greens exceeded even this, as they closed the last line of the presentation with the hope that the games will soon catch up with New Dawn. – in terms of machine requirements, this would definitely be unpleasant.
