Our Digital Dependencies - Intel IDC InfoBrief Research
According to an Intel-sponsored IDC InfoBrief research, the most important member of our digital toolbox is our personal computer. 97% of households surveyed say their PC is their primary computing device, spending an average of 21 hours a week.
The survey launched by IDC under the title "Exploring our digital dependence" reveals that consumers love the digital world - especially the PC - and would first give up sports, sweets, caffeine, about the pleasures provided by cable television and automobiles than from their home computer. The following circumstances justify the purchase of new PCs:
- desire to use the latest technologies;
- the convincing effect of an even better price / value ratio;
- the promise of an even faster tool;
- old device not working.
Nearly half of Americans plan to improve their PC in some way over the next year.
