Students can develop Android applications for LG phones

LG has entered into an agreement with the Kandó Kálmán Faculty of the University of Óbuda to design new Android applications in Hungarian.

Students of the Kandó Kálmán Faculty of Electrical Engineering of the University of Óbuda work together in small and larger groups of 1-2 people to develop Android applications in Hungarian. A fraction of the currently available Android applications, which exceed one hundred thousand, were made only in Hungarian, so the cooperation can be favorable for Hungarian users.

The collaboration has many benefits for both LG and students. Students get to use the devices to get an in-depth look at Android phones. LG will provide 5 LG Optimus GT5 phones for the 540 starting teams. During programming, they can try what they have learned in practice, and the applications that are considered the best can appear as pre-installed applications on LG mobiles. And the most successful developers will be richer in valuable LG gifts beyond their professional experience. The young programmers are constantly working on this task, even in the first half of the 2011 school year, and have been given virtually a free hand in developing the applications. Information on the results and available applications will be provided later.
