The price of ATI cards may decrease

Rumor has it recently that ATI will cut the price of its X1000 series after NVIDIA officially releases its 7900 video cards. The Canadian manufacturer is likely to respond to this with NVIDIA earlier, also to rumor-level price cuts.

Based on the rumor, ATI's most powerful card, the Radeon X1900 XTX, will cost $549, i.e. "only" about HUF 110, and the XT version will cost you $000 (approx. HUF 479). For its predecessors, the 96 MB and 000 MB versions of the Radeon X1800 XT, we have to pay around $512, i.e. about HUF 256.

In addition, it should be mentioned that ATI's soon-to-be-released mid-range card, the Radeon X1800 XL 512 MB, will also have a starting price of $ 299 (approximately $ 60).

However, it is also worth looking at competition. NVIDIA's flagship GeForce 7900 GTX 512 MB will cost just $ 499 (about $ 100), while the dumb version, the GeForce 7900 GT, will cost $ 299 (about $ 60). The price of the current top holder, the GeForce 7800 GTX 512, will drop to $ 399 (about 80 forints).

The unofficial source also mentions the Radeon X1800 GTO, which is expected to cost between $ 199 and $ 249 ($ 40- $ 50) for its little brothers, the Radeon X1600 XT and the Radeon X1600 Pro, usually between $ 149 and $ 109 ( 30-22 thousand forints) should be issued.

ATI Technologies has not officially commented on what was said in the rumor.
