Computex: ASUS Padfone - a smartphone that has moved into tablets - literally!

The unveiling of ASUS 'first Android docked smartphone is imminent.

With the launch of Computex 2011, events are also accelerating. We’ve gotten used to the fact that ASUS is almost everywhere there, but the next product now seems unusual, even at the same time, an imaginative pull.

Padfone can be considered as a package consisting of two components. One is an android-based smartphone, and the other is a dock, which is actually a tablet to which the phone adds the hardware it needs to operate.

Thus, with this solution, we practically get two devices, a smartphone and a tablet, so that, moreover, the content of the device is always the same, since in this respect it is the same gadget.

The dock completely hides the phone, it needs to be placed in a coffin on the back and then locked with a door. This is good because we know the "brain" of the device in tablet mode in complete safety, it is protected from external influences.

According to current information, the Padfone will be available in a variety of colors (black, white, and brownish shades seem certain), and the dock will have stereo speakers. Unfortunately, little is known about the hardware itself, the specification, for the time being, all that has been suggested is that they can work with Garmin in some way. Presumably, as Computex moves forward, more and more specifics will emerge about this device as well. In the meantime, let’s admire the pictures and reward the idea!
