CL71: sliding device from BenQ-Siemens

At first glance, the multimedia CL71 with a slim, metallic look is similar to the Sharp TM100 and Nokia 6280.

The tri-band (GSM 900/1800/1900), Java-enabled BenQ-Siemens mobile with 176 × 200 pixel resolution, IPS technology TFT display is capable of displaying 262 colors, which shows a distortion-free image even at a wider viewing angle. With its 1,3 megapixel camera, it can take pictures up to 1280 × 1024 and can also record video. The device has 24 MB of internal memory, which can be expanded with a microSD card up to half a gigabyte. This may also be necessary, as received MMS, captured images and recorded videos, as well as music uploaded to the built-in MP3 player, can quickly fill up this basic amount of data storage. Listening to music stations is only possible through the stereo headset supplied with the phone, as this shortcoming is compensated by the FM radio integrated in the headset. You can set up to 40 channels of music or MP3 as a ringtone.

Unfortunately, the device is not 3G, so you can only browse the web via GPRS, and it can only transfer data via Bluetooth 1.2 and USB 1.1 connection modes, it does not have an infrared port at all. Despite the factory 750 mAh Li-Ion battery, the standby time of the phone is only 170 hours, while the talk time was determined by the factory at 2,5-3 hours. The exterior, which won the 2006 iF Design award, partially compensates for these shortcomings, and the weight of the phone is not more than average (110 grams). The size of the device is only 97×46,5×17,8 millimeters, which is primarily the so-called thanks to the "sliderphone" design. The CL71 can be launched on the market at the beginning of summer, at a price of approximately HUF 70.
