And this is definitely good, as it can also be used to carve out costs, and in such a way that no one feels stolen.

What could be these differences? The easiest difference in action is the exterior. We won’t find a nice finish on the cheaper units. The cables are slightly shorter and there are no stockings on every whip. Fortunately, there are no big differences in terms of cooling, we can safely say that solutions with a 12-centimeter fan have become commonplace, saving a lot of noise. Of course, there may already be some differences in the built-in fans, but in general it can be said that the sliding bearing design is still preferred in power supplies to this day, whether it is a more expensive or cheaper solution.

There are still differences in the cables, and these can be found in the number of connectors. It’s quite clear that a plethora of cables serving up to four video cards are unnecessary for an office or a less powerful home machine, as there is a suspicion of a little savings on the cables on SATA drives. On more expensive solutions, however, the number of old Molex connectors can be reduced and the floppy cable can even be omitted altogether. So there is a possibility of variation normally.

They went even further than the Chiefs. They did not rely on the number of cables to vary in their design, they also reached into the power supply a bit. Anyone who understands a little about computers knows how important it is to have a stable power supply for video cards, for example, in a machine where everything is focused on performance. These machines are also very often tuned, so it is essential that the power supply be able to confidently handle the voltage demands that arise. It is quite obvious that this is not necessary for a lower power configuration. However, the power supply to the drives needs to be stable, as data loss can be costly, especially on a company machine. Thus, the difference between the categories is not only in the Chieftek in terms of not only external but also internal abilities.

At the same time, you should also know that the manufacturer will not release crap out of your hand, which is available in two abilities. One is that the cheaper feeds are also equipped with active PFC, the other is that they operate with extremely good efficiency.

The latter ability is also worth a few plus sentences. At one time, no one was concerned with the efficiency of a diet. It was written to be 400 watts, dividing a good day. How much current had to be brought in to get the output power out of the dog didn’t interest us to put it mildly. However, times have changed and it has become fashionable - let us add, we love it when fashion is expressed in this form - that is, green operation, that is, power supplies do not burden the environment by simply wasting a bunch of energy from the power consumption to heat the air. . Of course, this fact is good not only for the environment, but also for our wallet, as the electricity bill will be smaller.

So what happened is that manufacturers have started to pay attention to efficiency, that is, how much of the energy we consume is actually used and how much we heat the atmosphere, or if we don’t want to think on such a large scale, our room. This is why markings such as 80+ have appeared on the power supply boxes, which is meant to indicate that more than 80 percent of the energy absorbed is utilized while the machine is running, and of course not as heating.

The Chiefs also had to pay attention to this trend, as it is difficult to tell a power supply these days that it is good not to find at least the 80+ sticker on it. Yes, but it comes at a cost. Simply put, it can also be like a branding, and getting it on the box costs the manufacturer money. They thought one thing at the Chiefs, and they didn’t even say it, saying the price of it would ultimately be paid by us, the consumers, and they don’t want that, but the power supply should be cheaper. For this reason, even if we search for the already known sticker on mid-range Chieftek foods, we will not find it. Even though these power supplies can certainly meet the requirements for 80+ marking. In order not to die stupidly, we find the marking on the sticker on the power supply, though in a slightly different form than we used to, but we can be happy about that now, because the power supply knows we don't get the sticker that we would throw away .
