CeBIT 2011: AMD video card package
After the NVIDIA recommendation, here is the package on the other side, where in addition to Gigabyte, PowerColor and Colorful products, the Radeon HD 6990 was also honored.
AMD will soon officially launch its latest Dual-GPU monster, the Radeon HD 6990. Many pictures of this monster were posted on the Internet, as it was also exhibited and could be viewed during operation. Equipped with two Cayman graphics processors and a total of 4GB of GDDR5 onboard memory, the card is already featured in Sapphire as well as Micro-Star International. Using the two 8-pin PCI-E power connectors, power consumption can easily reach 375 watts. A DVI and four DisplayPorts were on the back. A picture also came out of the card box around Sapphire's house.
Gigabyte introduced two Cayman and two Barts-based video cards, of which the modified Radeon HD 6970 and 6870 received the SOC token, which means they received much higher-than-average tuning, but the manufacturer did not comment on the exact clocks. . What the four innovations have in common is that they all use a cooling solution developed by the manufacturer, named WindForce.
In the case of Colorful, cards called Xstorm were introduced. Here, Radeon HD 6850, 6870 and 6970 products have been reworked. In addition to individual cooling, each is equipped with two BIOS. What makes these products special is that there have been rumors that the Xstorm series could gain a foothold in Europe as well.
Now let’s also say a few words about the novelty of PowerColor, which is none other than the Eyefinity version of the Radeon HD 6870. With the help of six Mini-DisplayPorts on the back, the card can draw content on six displays at a time. A graphics processor called BartsXT is ticking at 900 MHz. GDDR4.200 memory chips operating at 5 MHz have been doubled by the manufacturer to 1 GB instead of 2 GB. The PowerColor Radeon HD 6870 Eyefinity 6 comes with a dual-slot cooler, but the release date and expected price are still unclear.
Finally, XFX followed, where two video cards could be viewed. One is the Single-Slot version of the Radeon HD 6850, while the other is the Radeon HD 6870 Black Edition. The latter was equipped with a custom fan with two fans, not accidentally, as this product underwent a factory overdrive. In concrete numbers, this means that the clock on the BartsXT graphics processor has been raised to 940 MHz, while the clock on the 1GB GDDR memory has been raised to 4.600 MHz. The XFX is asking € 200 for the Radeon HD 6870 Black Edition. By the way, a detailed, foreign test of the card was also done, which on this page can be viewed. The manufacturer's other exhibited product, the Radeon HD 6850 Single-Slot, follows the reference clocks.
