The product of the Far Eastern manufacturer now presented is special in several respects.

LG didn't hesitate either, they also threw one at CeBIT, even in the area of PC optical storage. They presented their external drive, which is unique on the market so far, and which, in addition to "traditional" media, also deals with new-generation discs in some way.

It's a Blu-ray writer - based on its name, it's not so easy to guess: LG BE06LU - which doesn't burn blue discs at any speed: single-layer ones can be written once at 6 times, while double-layer or rewritable variants can be written at 4 times it burns at a rapid pace. If that still wasn't enough, we also reveal that it can also accept HD DVDs, although this means "only" 3x reading. However, the Korean unit is not satisfied with even this, as it perfectly handles DVD-RAMs and is also compatible with LightScribe technology.
