Intel's response to AMD Fusion?

As is already known, with the acquisition of ATI, AMD has moved towards integrated CPU-VGA combos.

It was obvious that Intel needed to respond. For a long time, the world had been guessing whether Intel would buy NVIDIA, and rumors were flying, but concrete facts and events did not follow.

A page has become available on Intel’s website where we can read about plans for the next generation of graphics and gaming. The first point on this page is Visual Computing Group it bears the name, from which we can easily guess that it presents a group engaged in the development of graphics tiles.
According to the description, the task of the group is to develop for the upper segment of the market. This shows that rumors about previous Intel plans for graphics chips may even be true. It is therefore conceivable that the CPU manufacturer will also enter the VGA business, at least in its upper category, as they are present in the field of lower, integrated solutions and even lead the market.

Among the sentences belonging to the group we also find one according to which a Visual Computing Group after the separate graphics chips, it will deal with CPU-VGA integration. This can mean roughly two things. The first is that Intel will not buy NVIDIA but will solve the development of stand-alone and integrated VGA-CPU solutions in-house, and the second is that the preliminary news confirms that Intel also sees integrated solutions in integrated solutions. future, so AMD Fusion’s opponent is expected to develop.

While it’s a fact that we have to wait a few more years for machines equipped with Fusion inserts, we can already say for sure that we are facing busy, battle-stricken years.
