Intel's answer to quad-core AMD
In the fourth quarter, we can expect the release of AMD processors for quad-core machines. Intel is already preparing for the answer.
The answer will be a quad-core CPU based on the Kentsfield core, called the Intel Core 2 Extreme QX6850. The interesting feature of the processor will be the elevated FSB, which will be 1066 MHz instead of the 1333 MHz of traditional quad-core solutions.
The QX6850 will come with 3 GHz real-time signals, twice 4MB of L130 cache, 999W TDP, and last but not least, $ XNUMX.
