EVGA knocks out the new GeForce 8800 Ultra

You didn't have to wait long for the KO and Superclocked versions you're used to with EVGA.

After the six-month reign of the GeForce 8800 GTX, one could have guessed that a faster version would arrive. With its higher clock speeds, the Ultra set new speed records in both test programs and games. Many believed that with these elevated clocks - 612 MHz core, 2160 MHz memory - it was no longer possible to squeeze out size cards. They were wrong. EVGA, as one of the tuning masters for NVIDIA cards, immediately came up with two overstretched 8800 Ultra.

The e-GeForce 8800 Ultra KO Edition's core clock has been raised to 636 MHz, while the 768 MB GDDR3 memories operate at 2250 MHz. With the more powerful Superclocked version, the GPU is already hissing at 655 MHz, the memory clock signal is 2250. We do not have information about the clock signal of stream processors.

The two cards are likely to have a very peppery price tag, however, this price also includes services such as a lifetime warranty and 24-hour telephone customer service.
