Elpida made the first 1 Gb XDR chip
Development in the memory market does not stop.
Elpida is proud to announce that they have been completed with 1 gigabit XDR chips that can also be used in x32-bit configurations. The modules, designed according to Rambus, tick at 7,2 GHz, which means data transmission of no less than 28,8 Gb / s. This huge capacity can be used most in the field of multimedia - the Sony Playstation 3 also uses XDR memories - just think of the computationally intensive H.264 / AVC codec, which means we will see the novelty mostly in consoles and players.
Mass production of modules requiring only 1,5 V will begin in April.
