Only one percent of Intel motherboards sold are Socket 1366

Of course, don’t be surprised by this, as the Socket 1366 is the top category socket. Even more surprising is the share of LGA775.

Intel has been replacing the old 775 socket for more than a year now, yet it still accounts for 77 percent of sales. Intel plans to take the old socket out of the market pretty slowly, so by the end of the year, they estimate it will only have 50 percent of the cards sold.

The successor to the Socket 775 straight branch, the share of the Socket 1156 is not very high at the moment, we find this in 18 percent of the cards sold. Since this will be the solution that will replace the old socket, Intel estimates that its share will reach 2010 percent by the end of 44, and as you can see, this increase is to the detriment of the 775 socket.

The third most popular socket is the Atom, with a share of 5 percent. That number could rise 7 percent by the end of the year if Intel’s forecast is correct.

Last in line is Socket 1366, as we wrote, with only 1 percent in sales, and that number won’t grow until the end of the year.
