Can iSLC mean the golden mean?

Performance and reliability are toweringly in favor of SLC NAND Flash chips, but have limited applicability in the consumer market due to high manufacturing costs.
Can iSLC mean the golden mean? Innodisk's patented iSLC technology combines the outstanding lifespan and speed of SLC chips with the benefits of MLC memories - here it's especially worth thinking about the price. In the image above, we can see how lifespans have evolved.

While today’s modern MLC chips allow 3000 programming / clearing cycles, iSLC does ten times that. This is accomplished by reprogramming 2 bits of information in the iSLC firmware and then storing it similarly to SLC flash-based solutions. The thing has one drawback: a given capacity requires twice the amount of storage, meaning a 32GB iSLC size can be combined with 64GB of memory. So basically, cost-effective MLC is applied, which is improved with a clever idea.
