AMD 790GX Chipset excels at overdriving Phenom BE CPUs
The AMD 750GX, paired with the SB790 South Bridge, also includes an integrated graphics processor.
The chipset begins with an introduction to the so-called Advanced Clock Calibration technology, which translates the overdrive of AMD Phenom Black Edition processors into a Windows environment, as the OC can be performed in real time using the OverDrive Utility software, and does not require a system restart.
AMD simply calls the ATI Radeon HD 3300 integrated graphics processor "hidden" in the north bridge the best in its category, according to them, the RV3-based VGA performs above 2900 points in 610DMark Vantage. The UVD responsible for playing DirectX 10, ATI Avivo HD, and HD videos — VC-1, MPEG-2 and H.264 — was not left out of the graphics controller's technological arsenal this time either, as was Hybrid CrossFireX, which is designed to to "combine" the performance of the discrete video card — ATI Radeon HD 2400 or HD 3400 — and the IGP. The monitor can be connected to DVI (up to two), HDMI 1.2 or DisplayPort.
Among the AMD 790GX repertoire, the knowledge of HyperTransport 3.0 and PCI Express 2.0 technology, CrossFireX, AMD Cool \\ n nQuiet 2.0 and ATI PowerPlay power management solutions, as well as AMD RAIDXpert are worth mentioning. The SB750 South Bridge handles 12 USB 2.0, 6 SATA-II (RAID 0, 1, 5, and 10) and 2 IDE-connected devices.
