Atomic ECS motherboard with PCI Express bus

Elitegroup Computer Systems unveiled its latest "atomic" motherboard at Computex, held between June 2nd and 6th.

The ECS 945GCD-M's micro-ATX-sized motherboard features a PCI Express x1 bus in addition to the PCI and PCIe x16 slots, allowing the North Bridge IGP, an Intel GMA 950 paired with D-Sub video output, to display a discrete video card on demand substitutable.

Both the central unit and the north bridge are passively cooled, the two memory slots can accommodate 533 MHz DDR2 modules, the motherboard also has an IDE and three SATA 3.0 Gb / s connectors, and an integrated 10/100 network controller and a six-channel audio.

The motherboard is expected to enter the market only in the last quarter.
