Asus SilentCool - just silently

It had been a long time before Asus set out to follow the fashion trend, announcing its silent video card, the ASUS Extreme N6600GT Silentcer.

Asus's first true passive heat pipe technology, SilentCool, turned out to be pretty fun. It feels a bit thrown together, like "you need a little here and there too". The basis of the cooling is provided by the aluminum fins covering the front and back of the card, on top of which there is a row of completely copper lamellas that looks quite heavy. Of course, the already well-proven heat pipes were used to transfer the heat, supplemented with an optional heat transfer module, which also transports the heat outside the house. Although the cooling will currently only be found on the Asus GeForce 6600GT solution, it is possible that due to its efficiency, we will also see it on more powerful cards, including the GeForce 7800 series.
