ASUS Eee PC rivals Packard Bell
Acer-owned Packard Bell couldn’t stand idly by watching the netbook craze that began with the ASUS Eee PC.
When creating the device, referred to simply as "dot", Packard Bell followed the well-established recipe for netbooks: 8,9-inch display, 1,6 GHz Intel Atom processor, 1 GB DDR2 memory, 160 GB hard drive, 3 USB 2.0 port, 5 in 1 memory card reader, Wi-Fi (802.11b/g), Windows XP operating system. Optional accessories include a 6-cell battery and a webcam.
The European distribution of the Packard Bell dot will start in November, the professional press estimates the price of the netbook at 399 euros, which corresponds to roughly 94 thousand forints.
