Asus Eee Box EB1007 - HD capability without ION

At ASUS, they don’t seem curious about ION, as they can solve it without supporting full HD resolution.

It is well known that the Intel Atom platform alone is very weak, at least in terms of graphics capabilities. Because of this, NVIDIA ION became very popular, which, based on Atom, avoided the problem by implementing its own graphics chip, so they created really small devices that could play in full HD resolution.

Unfortunately, ION does not really want to spread in Hungary, so we will have representatives of the bare Atom platform. According to recent news, ASUS 'new nettop device is also based on this foundation, yet the manufacturer claims that full HD is not missing out on its capabilities. One way to achieve this is to use a third-party hardware accelerator, such as Broadcom’s Crystal HD solution.

The new machine is relatively well drained hardware anyway, at least for its size. The device features a 1,66 GHz Atom D410 (D510-rs will also be available) processor, 1 or 2 GB memory, 160 GB hard drive, GMA 3150 graphics core, 802 / 11n WiFi, 10/100 LAN and eSATA. Price information is not yet available.
