Arrows Z, Android and 720p display meet in waterproof packaging

The Arrows Z is the latest phone from Japan’s KDDI, which has only succeeded in an attractive design.

Of course, the new model of the Japanese mobile operator is not manufactured by himself, the manufacturer of Arrows is actually Toshiba and Fujitsu. Its structure is interesting in several respects, as the 4,3-inch display has a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels, which raises the image quality to the level of the iPhone 4, as the end result is a pixel density of 341 PPI; the display uses IPS technology, so there will be no problem with that either.

Still with the seeming things, the next interesting thing about the KDDI device is that its cover is waterproof, which has been quite attractive anyway, so there will probably be no problem with the use of materials, it is available in three different colors, black, white and pink. For now, Android 2.3.5 will be available, but an Ice Cream Sandwich update cannot be ruled out later. The inside is no more modest, Texas Instruments supplies the chipset in the form of an OMAP 4430 that operates at 1,2 GHz and has two cores; it has 1GB of RAM attached to it, so there will be no shortage of this for the system either, while the role of mass storage will be played by an 8GB flash storage. There’s a 13-megapixel Exmor R lens on the back, while a tenth of that is forward-looking; the device is even capable of recording FullHD video. The cover has an HDMI connector, a microUSB port and a microSDHC expansion slot that can accommodate a card up to 32GB. Of course, with Bluetooth 2.1 EDR, we also get NFC, which is a bit more unusual nowadays with the presence of infrared, but since it's a Japanese product, it's not as unusual as a digital TV tuner.

Unfortunately, we have not received any information about the power source, but it is likely that a minimum battery over 1500 mAh will be included in the mobile, as this is also a common practice with Far Eastern smartphones. Its dimensions are average, 64 x 128 x 10,1 mm and 131 grams.
