AMD AM2 coolers - compatibility list
Not only will AMD’s new enclosure force us to buy new processors, but it is also possible that our existing cooling will suffer the transition.
For most coolers on the market today, their manufacturers dream of a unique design that may become unusable due to a new processor enclosure. The editors of MADSHRIMPS followed suit and decided to test 116 coolers.
As you can see in the picture below, the AM2 mounting frame is connected to the motherboard at 4 points, which is good news for those with water cooling, as they can secure the blocks with greater security.
