YouTube gets a basic video editor

The plan is for users to be able to perform some basic video editing operations directly through the browser.

A similar initiative had already taken place in 2007 through the flash-based YouTube Remixer, which had more serious features than the current one, but was also quite slow and buggy, so they stopped running the service further. Although the current editor has rather limited functionality, it can still encourage uploaders to use it instead of third-party software. On the YouTube test page, TestTube- where the video sharing can be tested, commented on, experimental solutions can be found - we can give a chance to the new service. Among other things, the editor allows you to merge multiple videos, cut out parts from the beginning or end, put audio under the video, or create new content.
