According to the Virus Bulletin, VIPRE has the best proactive virus protection

Another World Cup 100 award for VIPRE, the best proactive protection in the last 6 months.

Virus Bulletin, one of the world’s most respected antivirus certification labs, also released its antivirus test in August 2010, and VIPRE received the VB100 certification from an independent virus lab. This rating can be obtained by software that detects 100% of “wild” viruses and does not mistakenly identify a harmless test file. The August test, which examined both proactive and reactive protection of antivirus solutions, also brought another recognition to VIPRE: VIPRE provided the best proactive protection in the last 6 months. In the Virus Bulletin comparative test, VIPRE's proactive protection can identify nearly 85% of new malware without a database update.

In the RAP test, four tests are performed: in three, antivirus must detect pests that appeared three weeks before their release, meaning the VB examines how quickly manufacturers react to detected pests in their updates, and how quickly fresh pests enter the antivirus database. VIPRE has also been at the forefront of these tests, although such comparisons are traditionally won by solutions that use multiple antivirus engines at the same time. The fourth test looks at how effectively the antivirus detects new pests that appear in the week after the updates are closed. Therefore, solutions here can only rely on proactive, artificial intelligence-based protection, as updates to new samples are no longer available, just as with as-yet-unknown infections.

The tests are repeated every two months, and in the field of proactive protection, VIPRE achieved the highest overall accuracy in 2010 tests in the last six months, February to August 4, examined by the Virus Bulletin.
