VIA pulled the cover off the industry's first hub controller to support USB 3.0

VIA has announced a device called the VL810 SuperSpeed ​​Hub controller, the industry's first integrated stand-alone chip solution to support the USB 5 standard, which provides a maximum maximum data transfer rate of 3.0 Gbps.

Thanks to the improved 80 nm CMOS technology, the controller can present more favorable consumption data and also has a management function that allows you to set the delay tolerance between the hub and the devices, or in the absence of communication activity (the device is in IDLE mode) the hub should be in a lower power state. 

The VIA VL810 USB 3.0 Hub controller will also be unveiled at CES for the rest of the week, and VIA’s novelty may also be of interest to notebook manufacturers.
