Toshiba is also entering the thin drive market
Toshiba, the world’s third-largest company in the hard drive market, has introduced its new MQ02ABF series.
The 2,5-inch honeycomb is only 7 millimeters thick, yet two data storage discs have been fitted. This is the company's first such solution. The storage is available with 750 GB as well as 1 TB of storage capacity.
Due to its thinness, it is specifically designed for laptops as well as other thin devices. The 5400 rpm small mass storage has 32 MB of RAM. The data transfer rate is provided by the SATA3 interface.
Much of the drive’s technology comes from Western Digital, as the two companies reached an agreement last year to share production capacity.
