Of course, the box itself brings the level, the glossy black cardboard offers enough elegance, when you look at it, the feeling has begun to emerge in us that there is something different inside that we can get used to. Removing the outer protective layer only reveals the view of the player itself and the remote control, which is very correct at first glance, the additional accessories are hidden under them.
True to our habit, we then unpacked everything we could find.

So we have everything we could need, and the added accessories were not removed from the shelf for a few forints, it is enough to look at the HDMI cable, for example.
The appearance of Popcorn is authoritative and elegant. The term Networked Media Tank on the front reminds us that we did have a weapon in our hands that could end the war - in our case, that means we don’t have to look any further, as we found a product in the A-110 that meets all our needs. satisfies. By the way, next to the inscription on the front panel (exactly on the other side) there is a small reset button, a USB connector and three LEDs, which are intended to indicate the standby, active status and an external device connected via USB.
Now comes the most important area, the back cover. For the sake of order, we are moving from left to right in terms of enumeration. Manual power button, component video output, S-Video, composite video output (these were the connectors for image output only); analog audio right and left channels and optical output (this is the audio department); then HDMI (which is a basic requirement for a player of this caliber), USB-PC and USB; and the line is closed by the RJ45 LAN and the power connector.
The shape of the house is basically rectangular, but the designers added a small curve to the front side. The huge Popcorn Hour "graffiti" blooms on the cover, bringing a smile to our faces and creating good feelings in our minds, since seeing this image will always make us aware that something pleasant and fun is coming. We had the silver-metallic version, but of course it is also available in black. Who chooses which one is purely a matter of preference, and these two colors give us the opportunity to easily integrate the player into our existing entertainment electronics department, since silver and black are currently the dominant colors on the market. By the way, the housing is basically solid metal, which is not surprising, after all, we are dealing with a "King Tiger". There are ventilation grills on the two edges, which can be removed from the scaffolding (as well as the front and rear panels) if the cover has been removed after unscrewing the four screws.
Let's look at the inside of the tank, which is very clean! The brain, i.e. the Sigma Designs SMP8635 chip, and the defining part of the other electronic components rest on the left PCB. The outputs are placed on the smaller printed circuit board, and the remaining blank area can be attached to the internal hard disk, which we already know from the first page that it can be both 3,5 ″ and 2,5 ″. Once the drive is secured, replace the cover and you can get ready for commissioning!
