SanDisk blames Windows Vista

SanDisk CEO says Windows Vista is to blame for the SSDs already on the market not delivering the performance you would expect from them.

Eli Harari, the president and CEO of SanDisk, said in a statement that Microsoft's operating system is simply unable to properly use flash-based data storage, due to this, despite the advanced control unit built into Solid State Disks, their performance still falls short of what we would expect from them. however, he quickly added that this problem can be remedied by reprogramming the control units. If we look at the other side of the coin, we could also say that SanDisk's development engineers ignored the limitations of the "Vista environment", and this is why the manufacturer's SSDs are inferior to their competitors.

SanDisk's next-generation SSDs already include control units optimized for Windows Vista, the samples are expected to roll off the production line before the end of the year, but the start of mass production can only be predicted for the beginning of next year.
