Netbooks do not eat into the notebook market

For a while, it seemed that netbooks could deal a serious blow to notebooks, but that doesn’t seem to have been the case yet.

Microsoft and Intel were seriously concerned that dumping cheap netbooks would have a detrimental effect on notebook parts sales, but DisplaySearch data did not prove this. The two big manufacturers have also poured their fears into action when various practices have prevented the inclusion of hardware and software for cheap netbooks in notebooks as well.

Recent data shows that while the netbook market has doubled in growth from the notebook market, and the share of netbooks sold in the portable market has grown from 5,6 to 22,2 percent in one year, this has not been to the detriment of salable notebooks. The market for full-size machines is still strong, with smaller machines being preferred by people as a second portable machine. In addition, the growing sales figures are due to the fact that many mobile operators around the world have included netbooks among their products for sale, with which they sell their mobile internet service with several years of loyalty.

Of course, the news does not reflect domestic conditions!
