Motorola has so far not provided any official information on exactly for which devices it will make the latest version of Android OS.

Motorola has also officially released its Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade schedule

However, the telecommunications device company, which has now been handed over to Google for good, has today finally released its upgrade schedule for its previous devices. For greater clarity, work on the upgrades has been broken down by the U.S. manufacturer into four levels. At the very first level, they assess whether the device is upgradeable. At the second level, they are working on improving the update. As a third step, testing is performed to ensure that the new system is working properly on the device. Finally, if the former processes are successful, the last step is to start distributing the update.

We already knew that the latest devices, the Razr, Atrix and its recently released counterparts, could certainly count on Ice Cream Sandwich. In the case of the rugged Defy and his successor, Defy +, unfortunately, the hope for the official update has finally disappeared, and alternative solutions remain a refuge. As previously announced, the first unofficial reference board, the Xoom, and its successor, the Xoom 2, will also receive the latest version of the operating system. However, the latter device will only be updated in the third quarter of the year. Below is a look at what upgrade plans Motorola has put together for its European versions.
