The bear lake is followed by the eagle!

Even motherboards based on Bearlake chipsets have not hit the market, Intel has already outlined the key specifications for its successor.

According to HKEPC Hardware, the successor to the Bearlake family, codenamed Eaglelake, will be available in the second quarter of 2008 in two versions: a version with DirectX 10 IGP and a version without.

Key Features of Intel Eaglelake Chips:

  • FSB: maximum 1333 MHz
  • CPU: support for Yorkfield and Wolfdale processors with a bandwidth of 45 nm
  • RAM: both 1333 MHz DDR3 and 800 MHz DDR2 modules are handled by the memory controller
  • PCI Express 2.0 support
  • DVI, HDMI, DisplayPort outputs
  • knowledge of the HDCP copy protection procedure
