The main benefits of using cloud-based solutions

Research findings from HP's recent Horizon conference.
cloud-computing A questionnaire survey conducted by the company at the large-scale event of HP Hungary at the Horizon conference on June 7 showed that lower operating costs (49%) and greater flexibility, ie faster market responsiveness (40%), mean the main benefits of cloud-based solutions. The three most frequently mentioned barriers to the introduction of cloud-based solutions in Hungary were identified by respondents as security (77%), transformation / transformation (64%) and compliance / oversight (56%). 

The survey also pointed out what skills and knowledge the respondents think they lack most often when using domestic cloud solutions. Respondents identified a lack of understanding of the potential of cloud-based solutions (55%) and knowledge of cloud-based project management (45%) as the two most significant barriers. When asked in which areas cloud respondents would first use cloud-based solutions, 23 percent of respondents indicated web-hosting and 20 percent testing-development. These applications are followed by database storage and backup (15%) and storage and archiving (11%). Regarding the future of cloud-based solutions, 33 percent of respondents believe that more than half of a company’s applications will be managed in public cloud by 2020, 31 percent say this proportion will range from 25 to 50 percent, while nearly 30 percent of respondents do so. ratio between 5-25%. 

The non-representative research reflects the opinions of about 75 IT professionals, nearly 60 percent of the conference participants.
