Dell has begun distributing its Linux computers

As a first step, Dell made Ubuntu Linux available as an operating system for three computer configurations.

With this, Dell is virtually fully responsive to consumer needs for the operating system, as some configurations are available with Microsoft Windows - XP and Vista - or Ubuntu Linux software, or even without an OS.

For now, Ubuntu Linux 7.04 is only available for the XPS 410n and Dimension E520 desktops, as well as the Inspiron E1505 notebook. As about in our previous news we reported that in the future, Dell's offer will be expanded with the SUSE Linux Enterprise Server version, which will probably be available primarily for server machines and workstations.
