Browser performance overview

where Futuremark, famous for its metering programs, will be the focal point.

It is no longer new that several developers are declaring at the same time: they own the title of the world’s fastest web browser. Futuremark as an outside observer, the  Peacekeeper through trying to do justice to this position. The series of measurements mainly covers HTML and JavaScript functions. The programmers repeatedly stressed that they did not want to create a standard synthetic measurement program, but a free test page that assesses the needs of the most visited sites (Youtube, Twitter Facebook).

Notes:

  • Complex Graphic Score (HTML5 Canvas) is not included in the total.
  • A tilted Programs marked with are still under development.
  • The results of Peacekeeper (unfortunately) are highly dependent on the system environment.
  • The Acid3 test checks how closely a browser follows official guidelines. It also covers Web 2.0 applications as well as DOM, CSS2 and SVG standards.
