HTC revenue fell 61 percent
Last month’s sales figures paint a rather sad picture of the company’s future, showing a 61 per cent drop from the October 2011 figures.
Quantitatively, this means that while the company had $ 1,512 billion in revenue last October, it had sold $ 590 million by October this year. If we add the full-year performance to the October data, which shows about $ 5,5 billion in revenue decline in the first ten months, we can say that HTC’s situation isn’t too rosy. The decline in revenue is primarily explained by the fact that their tablets have become quite overpriced with the release of the Kindle Fire and Nexus 7.
The deterioration in sales results also resulted in the company slipping back from fifth to eighth globally among competitors. HTC can now count on the miracle and the devices that came with Windows Phone 8, which were well received. The question is how successful machines with the new Windows system will be among end users.
